Levon is the name of Elton's John's baby that was born on Christmas day. It is also the name of his hit song that came out in 1971. The song was never sold as a single, but can be purchased on the album, "Madman Across the Water."
The song was based on the friendship that Elton John had with Levon Helm from the rock group, "The Band."

It is ironic that the song, 'He was born a pauper to a pawn on a Christmas day.'

The newborn Levon was hardly born a pauper, but he was born on Christmas day.
