It was sad to see "Larry King Live" come to an end. I had watched the show almost every night for as long as I can remember. When I had heard that Piers Morgan was taking over I was excited for I was familiar with him as a judge on, "America's Got Talent," and thought he was a good guy. However, when I heard that he was not going to allow Madonna on his show and he was making that statement before his show aired I began to question what's up with this guy? Why would a talk show host brag about who he won't allow on his show for an interview before his show even airs? I firmly believe that you have to tell the stories that are important; even if you don't like the person who you have to interview. I had watched the first week that "Piers Morgan Tonight" aired and I was pleasantly surprised. There were some very good ingredients to the show:
First of all, the set is wonderful. It is very modern and colorful. The show has a blue and green backdrop which is very pleasing to the eye. The set is very "up" and happy feeling, and almost techy ,which makes you think of getting the information fast. The set also has a nice backdrop behind Mr Morgan that has a photo displayed of the guest. It appears to be in a corner which gives a more interesting look to the set. I also like the show because of Piers Morgan as the host.
Piers is very talented as a journalist. He had 20 years of experience working in London for the, "Daily Mirror." Mr Morgan is handsome, aggressive and very smart. He will not hesitate to ask the question twice if he doesn't get the answer. He knows how to make the guest feel comfortable.
He will not hesitate to give compliments to the guest to make them feel better. The line up of guests for the first week was terrific; Oprah, Howard Stern, Condoleeza Rice, Ricky Gervais and George Clooney, (It would have been nicer if Mr. Clooney could have taken the time to be in the studio). The second week Mr Morgan will have; Rudi Guilini and the Kardashians. The show is current, fun and great questions are asked. "Piers Morgan Tonight," is a wonderful addition to CNN and it is very necessary that they try to get more programming that spices up the network. I still strongly feel that, "Parker Spitzer" is one of the worst shows the network has and am curious how "Piers Morgan Tonight" had impacted the ratings since the show airs just before "PMT." "Piers Morgan Tonight" is a wonderful replacement to, "Larry King Live" and gives CNN a lift in offering outstanding programming.
