Reese Witherspoon was born Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon on March 22, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her father attended Tulane Medical School and her mother has a Ph.D in Pediatric nursing. She is currently a professor at Vanderbilt teaching nursing classes. Reese is a descendant of Scottish born, John Witherspoon who was the 6th President of Princeton University. Reese had lived in Germany for four years while her father was in the military.
Ms Witherspoon got her first break in front of the camera when she was 7 years old. She was hired as a model for a florist that had advertised on TV. In feature films, "Man in the Moon" was her first gig in 1971. Reese has come a long way for she earns a reported 15-20 million per movie. Her latest film, "How Do You Know?" is coming out on December, 17, 2010. She co-stars with Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson. Reese was recently on, "Late Night With David Letterman." She had mentioned that it had been two years since her last film. She had come in from Vancouver, Canada where she thought it was too cold for her. She has two kids; a daughter who is 11 and her son is 7. She pointed out that her daughter is turning into a teenager who is mortified by everything she says and does. Reese also owns a production company named after her childhood nickname, "Type-A." She also has a few more movies in the works including: "Water for Elephants," to be released in 2011 and "This Means War." for 2012 release. Reese has a wonderful Southern charm and is a wonderful role model for carrying good family values. Glad to see she is back!
