Ruth Madoff: What You May Want to Know About Her

Ruth Alpern attended Queen's college and received a masters degree from NYU. She is from the Rockaways, New York. In 1959 Ruth married Bernard Madoff. She went on to work on Wall Street and later in the office of her husband's company. Mr Madoff launched, "Bernard L Madoff Investment Security, LLC" in 1960 and continued until his arrest on December 11, 2008. During the 1970's, the Madoffs lived a very modest lifestyle living in a ranch home in Roslyn,
Long Island. In 1980 their lifestyle began to change when they purchased their first beach home in Montawk, Long Island, a fancy apartment in Manhattan and a home in Florida. There were yachts, artwork, jewelry and much more. Ruth Madoff had lost most everything after her husband was thrown in jail. She lives in South Florida and has a condominium. She is angry with Bernie about the recent suicide of her her son Mark and holds him responsible for what had happened. This story will become a Hollywood movie. It is a classic example of how money and greed can destroy everything.
