Barbra Streisand was Larry King's second last interview for his show on CNN. She had done the interview in her home. She was promoting her latest book, "My Passion for Design." about decorating. She had decided to do the book, because she was going to do a movie, but it fell through and she said that she had to keep busy. She worked on the book for close to two years. There were 57,000 photos shot for the book and 3/4 of them were done by Barbra. It is clear that Ms Streisand loves to decorate. She stated that it makes her satisfy her heart. She loves the composing, graphics, and order of design. She admitted that she once wanted to be a hat designer. Design is something that she adores. She reminded Larry about when she was growing up in Brooklyn that she grew up with plastic covers on her lamp shades.
Barbra is married to actor James Brolin for 14 years and said that she was very happy. They are opposites and she feels that makes it work. 'He is more laid back than me.' As for politics, Barbra is a democrat and a is fan of President Obama and Clinton. When asked why she did the Fockers, she said that it did not take much of her time. Ben Stiller is the one who had called and asked her to take the role as his mom in the movie. She pointed out that Dustin Hoffman and her would ad lib a lot They go back a long time from their early years of acting school when she was 16 or 17. Larry had asked her why her name was missing an "a" in Barbra. She said she did not want to change her name, but knew that she had to do something because there were so many Barbaras out there.Last, but not least, Larry asked Barbra if she was going to do a concert again. She said if the place was interesting. It seemed like she was leaning towards doing a concert in Europe. She did not say, but she hinted. As for Las Vegas, she did not think that she would go back there for another concert. It was a terrific interview. Ms Streisand is a class act and Larry had some great questions.
