Nicholas Brooks and Sylvie Cachay, Daily News
The "Daily News" had reported that Sylvie Cachay had a little poodle that was hit by a car and died from injuries. Nicholas Brooks had met up with Sylvie after the accident. Sylvie was very upset about the death of her dog, and apparently Mr Brooks was a good listener and made her feel better about the incident. The couple then dated about 6 months until Sylvie broke it off about 2 weeks ago. Nicholas Brooks lived in the East Village with other guys, and Sylvie lived in the West Village. The couple met at the Soho hotel, because she was a member and needed a room since there was a fire at her apt earlier the week of her murder.
