Mark Madoff, the 46 year old eldest son of Ponzi Bernie Madoff. He was found in his his Soho apartment in Manhattan on Mercer Street around 7:30 A.M.by his father-in-law. Mark had sent an email to his wife asking her to have someone to check on their 2 year old son and that is why Stepahnie's father stopped by at the Soho apartment. Apparently, they lived on the fourth floor of the building and had the entire floor. The body was in his living room hanging from a ceiling pipe in the loft apartment. His body was fully clothed, and was found with a black dog leash wrapped around his neck. It was reported that the leash belonged to his dog. His wife's name was Stephanie, and Mr Madoff had one 2 year old son. Police considered the case as suicide. It has been 2 years since Bernie Madoff had been arrested. There was a statement submitted by the attorney who works for the family stating that the pressure of the Madoff case was too much. It was 2 years since Mark had contact with his father.
