Ricky Gervais is very funny and he had hosted the
Golden Globe awards for 2 years. Most recently, there was some concern regarding whether the
Hollywood Foreign Press would allow him to return after he made jokes about various people while he hosted the 2011
Golden Globe awards . Shortly after he had hosted the
Golden Globes, he was on
Piers Morgan's Tonight stating that he was not going to apologize for his jokes. There have been reports in some online sites indicating that he was asked to come back in 2012 for the third time.
OK online indicated that is not true. It was stated that, Phil Berk, who is the head of the
Hollywood Foreign Press Association told the
Hollywood Reporter that there is no plan for Mr Gervais
to come back to host again in 2012. Ratings did go up this year, and Ricky Gervais did a fantastic job. He is smart, funny and really knows how to make you laugh. The
Foreign Press Association has to understand that it is expected that there will be some humor at these events or it will be just too boring. It does sound like Ricky Gervais is not going to return to hosting the
Golden Globes, and that is too bad.
