Helena Bonham Carter was born on May 26, 1966. She is from Golders Green, London. Her mother is a Psychotherapist, and dad was a Merchant Banker. Her family has a strong British political history. Ms Bonham's mother had a very serious nervous breakdown when Helena was only 5 years old. Today, Ms Bonham has 2 children with partner, film director,Tim Burton. She had indicated to Jay Leno that she had to take a class on parenting for it is much harder work than acting. She raved about the classes that taught her to be positive when she deals with her kids. Rather than complaining about something that the kids do bad, she pays good attention to the good things they do and praises them. Helena stated that it makes them behave much better, because the kids want to hear the praise. She lives next door to Mr Burton and visit each other all of the time. Even though they have a relationship, they feel that it is better to keep separate homes. Ms Bonham is nominated for her role in,
the King's Speech.
She made a joke to Leno stating that the last time she was invited to his show was when she had her last nomination 13 years ago.
