Black Eyed Pea, Taboo Talks: Family, Career, His Latest Book,"Fallin' Up,"and Fergie

Jaime Luis Gomez AKA, Taboo, was born on July 14, 1975 in Boyle Heights, L.A., California.  He is a Mexican American rapper who also plays keyboards and sings for the successful, Black Eyed Peas.  The group originally had the name, Atbann Klann, but the name changed when the record label changed. In 1995, Jaime Gomez joined the Black Eyed Peas.  In 2001, Stacy Fergusen, AKA  Fergie had joined the group.  Taboo recently told Wendy Williams on her show,   'On March 27, 2007,  I was arrested while I was on drugs. I told the police who I was with the Black Eyed Peas, and the police said they didn't care who I was.'  That was a turning point for Mr. Gomez. He stated that he got caught up in who he was. 'I am bigger than what I am.' He realized that he had to change his attitude.  He has been clean now for 4 years.  He has a new book called, Fallin' Up.  His intention is to send a positive message to people about life. He also has done some acting. In 2005, he was in the film Dirty with Wyclef Jean.  He also has written and performed music for some feature films such as, Coach Carter, Legally Blonde and Barbershop 2.   Taboo  has a baby on the way and told Wendy Williams on her show that the name is, Journey Jamisen Gomez.  When asked by Wendy about Fergie, Taboo indicated that she has her own bus because she has a whole staff of people who work for her; wardrobe, hair, makeup, etc..  He said, 'Fergie is like the rest of us, she puts up a good sweat!'
