Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren was born September 20, 1934.

Sophia grew up in "dire poverty" in Naples, Italy, and she was so thin and gangly, her mom
nicknamed her "the stick". At age 15, Sophia was being groomed for her film career by Carlo Ponti, her long-life love, and she won an Oscar for the film "Two Women" in 1961.
