George Carlin was the very first guest host on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on October 11, 1975. He wanted to wear a tee-shirt on the show and NBC insisted that he wear a suit. George got his way because he wore the tee-shirt under the suit jacket. Billy Preston and Janice Ian were musical guests. The bit players were; Andy Kaufman, Al Fraken and Richard Belzer to name a few.
Carlin did his "Baseball and Football" monologue for the show.
