David Letterman recently had both Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro as gusts on the show
. It was clear that the two actors are friends. They also were on promoting the latest Focker film. Mr Letterman pointed out that this was the first time that DeNiro was a guest on his show, and he has been on for 30 years. Letterman pointed out that he and DeNiro are neighbors and couldn't understand why it took 30 years to get him as a guest. DeNiro just smiled to the audience in response. Dave had some good questions for the two actors; He had asked DeNiro how he prepared for "Taxi Driver?" DeNiro indicated that he did drive a cab for a few weeks to get the feel of what it is like to be a cab driver. Mr Hoffman had indicated that the first time the two actors had met when he was working as a waiter at a restaurant in Manhattan when Robert DeNiro came in to eat in New York city. Their first film working together was, Sleepers. Brad Pitt was also in the film with them. Letterman had asked DeNiro about who he idolized as an actor? DeNiro responded, 'James Dean, Marlon Brando, Montgomery Cliff.'
Dustin Hoffman pointed out that he is a big fan of contemporary actress, Amy Adams. DeNiro had agreed with Hoffman on liking Amy Adams as an actress. DeNiro pointed out that he has a few projects on his plate and one film is a Martin Scorsese film with Joe Pesce and Al Pacino.
