Actor, director and environmental activist, Robert won an Academy Award
for Best Director of his film "Ordinary People". He grew up loving
sports, especially baseball, for which he won a scholarship to the
University of Colorado. After that, he enrolled in the Pratt Institute
of Art and Design, New York City, and the American Academy of Dramatic
Arts. His most memorable films include "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance
Kid", "Out of Aftica","The Sting", "The Great Gatsby", "The Natural",
and "The Horse Whisperer". In Juy 2009, he was awarded an honorary
Oscar for his lifetime achievements in film.
