Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush were guests featured on Piers Morgan Tonight.  Colin was in the studio with Piers and Geoffrey was on via satellite from his home in  Australia, and Helena was in London.   Colin was on first in a one-to-on interview with Piers Morgan. Colin, who is 50 has been in more than 30 feature films. When asked what was his favorite, he said, The King's Speech and the Tom Ford film, Single Man. He said, 'the rich pickings are the films that have characters who have problems.' He would not give an answer when asked what was the biggest turkey of a film that he worked on.  He explained, 'since I  am friends with many of the people who are involved with a film, all the way from writers to producers that it is not fair to complain about a project.' Colin has acted with Scarlet Johannson, Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson to name a few of the hottest  names in Hollywood.  When asked what is it like to make love to a beautiful actress,  Colin stated, 'it is an odd experience. '  Mr Firth is married for 15 years to who is an Italian producer, and has 2 children. He said that 'the secret to a good Hollywood  marriage is to communicate on a daily basis and spend  a lot a time together.' As for his kids and going into acting, he thinks that' it is OK it is a precarious business.  You need a back up career and then you are OK.'
Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter joined the discussion, and it was clear that the three enjoyed working together.  Geoffrey Rush was the executive producer of The Kings Speech as well as actor in the film. Helena worked on the Harry Potter film at the same time as the Kings Speech.  All three were nominated for an Oscar. Helena said, 'no one would not want to win that statute. '   If Colin Firth wins, Bonham said, the acceptance speech should dedicate it to her since Colin knows that the king cannot be a king without the queen.

"Piers Morgan's Tonight" Gives CNN a Big Lift in Offering Outstanding Programming

Piers Morgan interviewed George Clooney on, "Piers Morgan Tonight," CNN

It was sad to see "Larry King Live" come to an end. I had watched the show almost every night for as long as I can remember. When I had heard that Piers Morgan was taking over I was excited for I was familiar with him as a judge on, "America's Got Talent," and thought he was a good guy. However, when I heard that he was not going to allow Madonna on his show and he was making that statement before his show aired I began to question what's up with this guy? Why would a talk show host brag about who he won't allow on his show for an interview before his show even airs? I firmly believe that you have to tell the stories that are important; even if you don't like the person who you have to interview. I had watched the first week that "Piers Morgan Tonight" aired and I was pleasantly surprised. There were some very good ingredients to the show:
First of all, the set is wonderful. It is very modern and colorful. The show has a blue and green backdrop which is very pleasing to the eye. The set is very "up" and happy feeling, and almost techy ,which makes you think of getting the information fast. The set also has a nice backdrop behind Mr Morgan that has a photo displayed of the guest. It appears to be in a corner which gives a more interesting look to the set. I also like the show because of Piers Morgan as the host.
Piers is very talented as a journalist. He had 20 years of experience working in London for the, "Daily Mirror." Mr Morgan is handsome, aggressive and very smart. He will not hesitate to ask the question twice if he doesn't get the answer. He knows how to make the guest feel comfortable.
He will not hesitate to give compliments to the guest to make them feel better. The line up of guests for the first week was terrific; Oprah, Howard Stern, Condoleeza Rice, Ricky Gervais and George Clooney, (It would have been nicer if Mr. Clooney could have taken the time to be in the studio). The second week Mr Morgan will have; Rudi Guilini and the Kardashians. The show is current, fun and great questions are asked. "Piers Morgan Tonight," is a wonderful addition to CNN and it is very necessary that they try to get more programming that spices up the network. I still strongly feel that, "Parker Spitzer" is one of the worst shows the network has and am curious how "Piers Morgan Tonight" had impacted the ratings since the show airs just before "PMT." "Piers Morgan Tonight" is a wonderful replacement to, "Larry King Live" and gives CNN a lift in offering outstanding programming.

Condoleeza Rice Shared Some Magic Moments With Piers Morgan

Condoleeza Rice was Piers Morgan's third guest on his show. The CNN show has been nothing less than fantastic. The guests are top notch and very interesting and Piers has done a great job getting the answers he wants. Yes! He does get a little agressive at times, but that is good. There is nothing wrong with pushing the guest a little and putting them on the spot. Condoleeza Rice is such a lady. It was interesting to hear her talk about how she became so successful and how she lives her life on a personal level. She works out daily. She loves kick boxing and makes sure that she does her exercise early in the morning so she has the rest of her day for her work. She gets up at 5:15 daily, except on Sundays, when she gets up at 6:00. She never gets intoxicated, but will have a drink from time to time. She loves being a Professor at Stanford, and loves living in California. She is interested in helping the state of California with some of the problems that the state is facing today. There are no hopes of her wanting to run for public.
Condolezza explained to Piers that she had wonderful supportive parents who helped her become who she is today. Her mother got breast cancer when Condoleeza was only 15 and got it back again when she was 30. She plays piano, cooks (fried chicken, gumbo and corn bread), and loves football. She could watch it all day and night. There is no one special in her life and she is very content being alone. As for the greatest moment in her life; it was when she played with YoYo Maa.

Piers Morgan: What Information Did He Dig Out of Oprah, and How Did He Do on HIs First Show on CNN?

Piers Morgan on his new show on CNN
Oprah as a young lady
Oprah and Stedman
Oprah Winfrey on CNN's "Pierce Morgan's Tonight"
Piers Morgan with his first interview for CNN with Oprah Winfrey

Piers Morgan is reaching to the top with the list of guests that he has on his show. He made it clear that there were certain people, such as Madonna who he would never have as a guest. His new show has a lot of nice things in place for him already. The 9 pm time slot that was used by talk show host, Larry King is a wonderful time to sit down, relax and watch an interview. He gets a full hour to ask more in depth questions, CNN airs around the world and last but not least, the ratings for Larry King Live were not good, and Piers can only go up with the numbers.
The interview with Oprah was a wonderful choice since she just launched her OWN network and people  want to see what she has to say about it. It was also good, because Oprah doesn't do many interviews, and anyone who gets one with her has a lot to boast about.
Oprah appeared very comfortable being interviewed and it appeared as if she really enjoyed it. She has a very down to earth low key conversation with Piers. Mr Morgan kept complimenting Oprah which clearly was enjoyed by Ms Winfrey. He had his cue card in his hand during the entire interview. Mr Morgan talked about Oprah's childhood, her relationship with Stedman, the rumors about her relationship with Gayle, OWN, and her money. Oprah was very candid, and had no problems with any questions that were asked. This was a wonderful interview. Piers Morgan had talked about things that no other interviewer had asked. He was aggressive, but kind at the same time. He knew the boundaries, and took the chance to get answers. As for Oprah. She was always a very inspirational person, but after this interview she came across even more. Howard Stern is the interview for tonight and hopefully it will be as good. So far,
Piers has done an outstanding job.
