Larry King Speaks Out About, Well ....Larry King!

Larry King on "Larry King Live" CNN

Larry King was born on November 19, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. His father owned a restaurant and mother was a worker in the garment industry. His father died at the young age of 44 from a heart attack. After his father died, Larry worked to help support his mother. Hid did graduate from High School, but never went to college.
Larry got his start in journalism by working in Florida in the 1950's and 1960's.
In 1978 he had an all-night radio show, and by 1985 he launched his first gig on CNN's
"Larry King Live." On June 29, 2010 Mr King announced that he would no longer be doing the show and on September 8, 2010 CNN confirmed that Piers Morgan would replace Mr. King.
Most recently, Mr King was interviewed on his own CNN and had been asked how he felt about leaving the show. Mr King stated, 'I will miss it a lot.' He pointed out that he is on vacation now with his family in Utah, and that is not unusual, because he would normally be off this time of the year as he has been every other Christmas break, 'but once the kids go back, I will feel weird.' When asked about not preparing for a guest? King replied,'I don't like any show where the host knows more than the guest. The less you know the more questions you have.' His producer, Wendy Walker, said 'Larry never liked to be briefed too much about a guest.'
When asked who are the hardest people to interview? Mr King stated, 'friends.'
King stated that there was nothing that he had ever regretted doing on the show.
King was on for 25 years and had interviewed just about everyone. He was a "master" at his craft of doing an interview. His awards prove it. He had won a Peabody and 10 Cable ACE awards. He pointed out that he is not through with broadcasting, and that he is looking to see what his options are. He also had entered into a business venture with "Brooklyn Water Bagels" and it will open up a franchise in Beverly Hills. He will be the spokesperson and owner of the the first store in LA.
Mr. King is currently married and has two young children. He was married 7 times and
married to 6 different women. He will be missed, for he was the "king" of CNN.
